If you’ve heard people around town talking about our pizza lately, I’ll admit, it’s pretty humbling. One of the things I hear most when I’m out in the community is, “We keep hearing about Cheeseheads and we’ve been meaning to get down there to try it.” Well, if that’s you, consider this your official invitation.

I’ve been serving up pizzas for nearly a decade now, first through my own restaurants and later while managing Big Fish Golf Course. Over the years, people have asked me what makes my recipe so good. The funny thing is, it isn’t really my recipe at all. It actually started with my younger brother.

Years back, he was home from work for about a month due to an illness. Instead of sitting around bored, he spent his time in the kitchen experimenting, mixing ingredients, and testing ideas. Somewhere along the way, he realized he had a real knack for cooking and creating recipes. One of the standout creations from that time was his homemade pizza. The flavors, the balance, the texture, it just worked. I saw how good it was, and I knew right away it was something special worth sharing.

Cooking has always been part of our family story. The creativity in the kitchen didn’t start with us. It goes all the way back generations to our great grandmother. Some of the recipes we use today, like our family frybread recipe, have been passed down and preserved through the years. There’s something meaningful about serving food that carries a family legacy behind it. It’s not just a meal, it’s history on a plate.
